
Best Friends Animal Sanctuary To Host “Welcome Back Day” on July 15 at Southern Utah Location
Kanab, Utah (6/21/2021) –After limiting visitors and volunteers due to COVID-19, Best Friend’s Animal Sanctuary is returning to full capacity and will celebrate the occasion with a Welcome Back Day on July 15th. Bunny yoga, horse training demonstrations, dog clicker training and a photo scavenger hunt are some of the activities’ visitors of all ages can take part in.
Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is the headquarters and heart of Best Friends Animal Society, a national, non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to making America a no-kill country by 2025. Set in Kanab, Utah, the Sanctuary is a unique 3,000-acre destination where more than 1,600 dogs, cats, pigs, goats, bunnies, horses, birds, and wildlife reside every day.
Best Friends Animal Sanctuary offers a free, family-friendly vacation experience where visitors can learn about the animals that live there and Best Friends’ lifesaving work across the country. The sanctuary is part of a complete Best Friends voluntourism experience offering guided tours, hands-on volunteering opportunities, and the ultimate in pet-friendly lodging at Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile (where guest can take a complimentary shuttle to the Sanctuary).
The July 15th, Welcome Back Celebration Day will feature the following activities:
- Morning events
- Dogs and Donuts at Dogtown
- Cats and Coffee at Catworld
- Horse training demo
- Clicker training with dogs
- Labyrinth hike
- Lunch with several of the Best Friends founders, who will offer compelling, first-person insight into the evolution of the organization since its start in 1984.
- Afternoon events
- Bunny yoga
- (Iced) Tea-Time at the Best Friends Roadhouse
- All day
- Open house at Welcome Center with refreshments and animal interaction
- Photo scavenger hunt with prizes
With its unique amenities and location, Best Friends makes an ideal staging area for trips to other national wonders such as Zion National Park, Grand Staircase Escalante National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and the north rim of the Grand Canyon.
