
Colorado’s Home Ranch Features Summer Family Ranching Programs and Adults Only Harvest Week and Ranch Week Programs in Late Summer and Fall
Clark, Colorado (02/23/2017) — One of America’s finest ranches, the 14-room Home Ranch in Clark, Colorado, near Steamboat Springs, has been providing extraordinary ranching experiences since 1980.
A Relais & Chateaux affiliate known for its haute mountain cuisine of locally farmed ingredients, the all-inclusive Home Ranch features a roster of activities year round. These range from Family Ranch Programs with horseback riding, fly fishing, hiking and mountain biking to Adults Only Harvest and Ranch Weeks featuring bikes, brews, whiskey, fishing, cattle roundups, horseback riding and yoga.

June 4 – August 27, 2017 – Colorado Family Fun
Colorado Family Fun Vacations – Each summer, The Home Ranch welcomes families and visitors who want to experience seven nights of ranching fun. While most guests come for the daily horseback riding excursions led by seasoned wranglers, there are plenty of other options available. Daily hikes among the wildflowers that follow rivers and ascend and descend mountain trails are led by The Home Ranch’s designated hiking guides. Fly fishing, along with lessons for all levels, are offered at The Home Ranch’s Orvis-endorsed fly fishing lodge. There is also mountain biking and white water rafting (June only). Weekly events include a Tuesday night wine pairing dinner with a local band performing country and bluegrass, outdoor BBQ on Wednesday followed by a barn dance and a campfire cookout and songs on Saturday. Prices start at $7,100 per room for the seven-night stay (based on two guests, with accommodations also available for up to six).
August 27-September 10, 2017 – The Home Introduces Three Harvest Week Event for Adults
The Home Ranch kicks off their adults only session with three, four or seven night stays in late summer and early fall.
Bikes and Brews – August 27-30
Mountain biking and a cold brew are synonymous with Colorado culture. The Home Ranch’s Bikes & Brews three-night package features a program filled with Colorado craft brews, beer workshops, on and off-ranch mountain bike ride, live music and cooking classes. Prices start at $3,045 per room (based on two guests, with accommodations also available for up to six).
Whiskey and Fishing – August 30 – September 3
Late August is the best time of year for dry fly fishing and The Home Ranch, an Orvis endorsed lodge, showcases Colorado’s best whiskies along with fly fishing clinics and stellar fly fishing on both the Upper Elk River and Yampa River for wild rainbow, brown, brook and cut throat trout. Live music, mixology classes, cooking and baking demos along with a cocktail party fill out the four night itinerary. Colorado High Mountain Harvest – September 3-10
The culmination of the High Mountain Harvest Weeks is a seven-night culinary extravaganza featuring the best of Colorado food, wine and culinary pursuits. The “Colorado High Mountain Harvest” features special sessions with Colorado’s top chefs, winemakers and food artisans. Cheese making, hearth oven baking, preserving workshops, wine pairing along with farm tours, hayrides and a barn dance are just some of the week’s highlights. Hands on Horse Week – September 11-16
Horse lovers will be given the unique opportunity to interact with horses of all ages and deepen their understanding of these special animals. The horses will range in age from six months old to mature saddle horses. We will take the same principles we use with young horses and apply them to the groundwork we do with an older horse. This week is dedicated to those who wish increase their horsemanship skills under the direction of renowned horseman Curt Pate. Cattle Roundup Week – September 17-24
Take part in bringing down the cattle from the high country in The Home Ranch’s “Cattle Roundup Week”. Guests of this special week get off the trails and round up the herd, learning about stockmanship practices and movement of cattle. Other Ranch activities such as fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding will be available. Prices start at $7,100 per room (based on two guests, with accommodations also available for up to six).
Experience Yoga and Horses – October 1-7 and October 8-14
Adventurous cowgirls of all ages can participate in an all-inclusive, luxurious week of health, wellness, and relaxation revolving around horseback riding, horsemanship instruction, gentle yoga, heathy gourmet dining, massage and deep relaxation. This year, for the first time, a second week is being offered to a smaller group of participants seeking more one-on-one instruction. The popular retreat is taught by expert cowgirl Tammy Pate and Yogini Janice Baxter and combines the benefit of horsemanship and yoga in a seven-day adventure. Cost is $4,050 per person based on single occupancy and limited to 16 guests for the first session. The cost of the second session is $4,990 and is limited to 10 guests.
