Clark, Colorado – August 23, 2017 – –  Michael Moon can now add “film composer” alongside his title as Ranch Operations Manager at the 14-room Home Ranch in Clark, Colorado .

Two of Moon’s original songs will be featured in the upcoming Robert Redford/Jane Fonda movie, “Our Souls At Night,” to debut in theaters this September and on Netflix.

Moon, who with his wife Dawn performs weekly for guests staying at the authentic ranch, was tapped by veteran film editor, John F. Lyons, to feature his music in the film.

Lyons and his family have been regular guests at The Home Ranch for more than a decade.

On recent visits, he realized that Michael Moon’s country folk scores, “Not So Lonely Now” and “April Prayer” fit well into the film’s tale of two widowed neighbors (Redford & Fonda) who develop an unexpected relationship in their small Colorado town.

“I’m thrilled,” says Moon who, when not managing all things ag and equine at The Home Ranch, pens music and lyrics that reflect life on the Western landscape.

“Michael’s rootsy acoustic guitar and vocals and Dawn’s pure, honest singing connect with everyone,” says The Home Ranch General Manager Brooks Bradley. “Even Hollywood took notice.”

The Moons met while working at The Home Ranch 25 years ago.

After serving in the Peace Corps in Ecuador and managing large conservation-oriented ranches around the country, they returned to The Home Ranch in 2015 with their four children to provide unparalleled experiences for Home Ranch guests and to share their love of music around the campfire.
