Learn Yoga self-actualization principles that inspire a unique bond with your horse, and heighten your horsemanship skills in this weeklong women’s retreat at The Home Ranch from September 29  to October 5 and October 6 to 12, 2019 

Clark, CO (09/2019) — Girlfriends unite in 2019 for The Home Ranch’s “Experience Yoga & Horses” retreat guided by horsewoman Tammy Pate and yoga instructor Janice Baxter.

The sessions will include our Traditional week, September 29 to October 5 and and our intensive week, October 6 to 12. The second week is offered to a smaller group of participants seeking more one-on-one instruction. The all-inclusive luxury wellness week features horseback riding, horsemanship instruction, gentle yoga, massage, deep relaxation techniques and healthy dining.

“The retreat is designed to balance the body, calm the mind, lighten the spirit and teach participants how to better communicate with their horse,” says Tammy Pate, who has been leading the retreat for 14 years at the 14-room Relais & Chateaux affiliated ranch.

Janice Baxter, who has been teaching yoga since 1972 in Hawaii and has a lifelong love of horses, shows participants how to incorporate yoga into their riding program and everyday lives. Tammy, born into a Montana ranching family, has been riding all her life and manages a cattle operation with her husband, stockman/horseman Curt Pate.  A skilled rancher and expert horsewoman, Tammy  learned firsthand how the benefits of yoga on the equestrian body  can bring a deeper awareness of mental and physical balance and improve one’s horsemanship skills.

The six-night, seven-day program features daily equestrian yoga classes with Janice and personalized horsemanship and riding instruction from Tammy.   Each of the participants, assigned their own horse for the week, also enjoy daily rides through the beautiful Elk River Valley and Routt National Forest areas.

For the September 29 –October 5 session, prices start at $4,600 per person and include private accommodations for six nights, all meals including evening hors d’oeuvres, live musical entertainment, one 55-minute massage, transportation to and from Hayden airport (HDN) along with transportation into Steamboat Springs for those who wish to explore this nearby resort town. For the October 6-12 session, prices begin at $5,665 and this session is limited to a maximum of 10 participants. Space is limited and offered on a first come, first served basis.
