Fall Color Hikes, Watercolor and Relief Printing Classes Offered at The Swag from September 25-October 1 and October 15-22.

Waynesville, NC – – August 31, 2017 – – As the leaves begin to turn and new colors emerge in the Great Smoky Mountains, guests at The Swag can record their memories with a paint brush or try their hand at relief printing.

Noted watercolorist and relief print artist Gay Bryant will teach beginning level lessons in both  mediums daily from September 25 to October 1 and October 15 to 22.

Bryant is a noted Tennessee-based artist who has hiked all 900 miles of trails in the Great Smokies.  Each morning she offers a guided nature hike and in the afternoon guests are invited to record their memories on paper in her beginning-level art classes.

As a studio painter, printmaker, hiker and art instructor for the last 25 years, Bryant enjoys creating work that focuses on the unique, natural beauty of the forests and diversity of plant life in the Smoky Mountains. Her guided hikes offer a bounty of information and allow guests to be captivated by the beauty of nature. These hikes create inspiration for each guests’ artwork.

The art classes and guided hikes are included in the all-inclusive rate at The Swag which starts at $520 per night, with a two-night minimum.  Rates are available through November 25th.    All prices include a hearty breakfast, picnic lunch, an evening social hour on the front porch with hors d’oeuvres, a four-course dinner, welcome gift and special event leader hikes and presentations.   Suite and Cabin accommodations are also available.  Single rate, less $50 per night.
