The Home Ranch Announces a Winter Whiskey Weekend with Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey, January 18-21, 2019

Clark, CO (12/18/2018) – Nordic skiing enthusiasts and whiskey lovers should check out The Home Ranch‘s Winter Whiskey weekend, offered from January 18-21, 2019.

The 14-room Relais & Chateaux-designated guest ranch has teamed up with Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey to offer nightly tastings.  Stranahan’s Head Distiller, Rob Dietrich will conduct fireside tastings of each of the company’s four expressions and share the story of how Stranahan’s Colorado‘s Whiskey became the first distillery in the state.

By day, Home Ranch guests’ – can enjoy 20 miles of groomed trails or spend the day back country skiing on the ranch’s 1500 acres of pristine landscape.   By night, Dietrich leads guests in tastings that include the original Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey, Diamond Peak, Sherry Cask and possibly the most recent Snowflake release.

Other special weekend features include snowshoeing, a sleigh ride, winter horseback riding, Après ski storytelling and live music from Michael and Dawn Moon.  Michael is the Director of Ranch Operations and he and his wife Dawn have recorded numerous CD’s.  Two of their song were featured in the 2017 movie “Our Souls at Night” – starring Robert Redford and Jane Fonda.

Guests will also enjoy the highly-praised cuisine of Chef Jonathon Gillespie.  The Home Ranch was built by Ann and Steve Stranahan in 1979 and Steve’s brother George started Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey in 2004.

Prices begin at $805 per night double occupancy and guests can choose to stay in either one of the six lodge guestrooms or the eight cabins located on the property. There is a two-night minimum stay requirement during the winter season, excluding Christmas and New Year’s holiday weeks. About Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey
