Celebrated Storyteller Donald Davis Entertains Guests this Memorial Day Weekend with his ‘Walk and Talk’ Hikes at The Swag
Waynesville, NC (4/12/2017) — Donald Davis grew up in Waynesville, North Carolina at the edge of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. He hiked in those mountains as a child and when he returned home, he would be entertained by plenty of stories at the dinner table.
His early life experiences created an insatiable appetite for storytelling and today Davis is regarded as one of America’s foremost storytellers. Folks who stay at The Swag, from May 22-May 28, August 6-13 and October 8-15, can participate in daily “Walk and Talk” hikes with Davis. The 14-room mountaintop Swag adjoins Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Davis leads guests on his favorite hikes into the park entertaining them with stories gleaned from his Southern Appalachian heritage.
Davis is award-winning author and producer of books and CD’s who guest hosts for National Public Radio’s Good Evening. He is also the recipient of the Circle of Excellence award and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Storytelling Network.
Rates at The Swag start at $520 per night, with a two-night minimum, and are available through November 25th. All prices include a hearty breakfast, picnic lunch, an evening social hour on the front porch with hors d’oeuvres, a four-course dinner and welcome gift.
